Ontario wants permits faster — and new Ontario businesses will need logo tees

By Jons Spot Editorial | Toronto, October 28, 2026

Permits are nobody's idea of a good story — until you're the one waiting on one. This week Ontario introduced a bill aimed at cutting the waiting around: fewer days lost to permit processing, easier movement for regulated workers coming from other provinces, and less reliance on U.S. landfill capacity for Ontario waste. The province is projecting nearly 220,000 days in combined permit-processing time savings, which, to be clear, is a government projection, not time already saved.

Here's why a Toronto print shop cares about a permitting bill: every faster approval is a shop, a studio, a crew, or a small team that gets to open sooner. And every new team that opens needs the same unglamorous, essential thing — something with their name on it.

That's where the Company Logo Tee (from $19.99) comes in. Pick your company from the list, pick a logo version, and we print it in-house in Toronto on the S05610 Parkour crewneck. No minimum order fuss, one piece is fine, and it's the kind of tee a new business actually wears — to the job site, to the market stall, to the first staff photo.

Source for the bill details: The Northern Current's report on the Building Ontario Faster Act, 2026, based on an Ontario Newsroom release. The bill was introduced October 27; it is a proposal, not yet enacted law, and the time savings are the ministry's estimate.

Also live this week: the meme tees

No forced joke tee from a permitting bill — that would have been a stretch, and we said no forced tees. The two that did earn their spot are still live, printed in-house on black tees: Born Retired ($18.99 S–XL, $20.99 2XL, $22.99 3XL, $24.99 4XL) and Code Rotted ($18.99 S–XL, $20.99 2XL, $22.99 3XL, $24.99 4XL).
